University of Maryland School of Medicine, CIVICs Clinical Core

About

The University of Maryland School of Medicine, CIVICs Clinical Core draws on more than four decades of innovative and groundbreaking research on the development, evaluation, and deployment of vaccines at the Center for Vaccine Development and Global Health (CVD). The Clinical Core embraces a cohesive, collaborative approach to advancing the development of novel influenza vaccines. The accomplished, multidisciplinary team brings extensive clinical research and regulatory experience, including the design and performance of clinical trials in all phases of development and diverse populations, and the design and execution of human challenge studies. Using in-depth influenza vaccine and immunology expertise and efficient project management, investigators advance scientific understanding of human immunity and support the development of improved influenza vaccines in state of the art clinical and laboratory facilities. The reach of the Clinical Core and its capacities are extended through strong partnerships with collaborating institutions at Vanderbilt University and The State University of New York (SUNY), Upstate.
