University of Maryland School of Medicine, CIVICs Clinical Core PI Profile: Kathleen Neuzil

We interviewed the Principal Investigators (PIs) responsible for leading each of the CIVICs Centers as part of a two-part interview series. In the first part of each interview, we focused on learning a little bit about the Center PIs, and in the second part, we asked each PI to introduce us to their Center.

In this article, we interviewed the PI for the University of Maryland School of Medicine, CIVICs Clinical Core, Kathleen Neuzil, MD, MPH, FIDSA. Dr. Neuzil is the Myron M. Levine Professor in Vaccinology, Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics, and the Director of the Center for Vaccine Development and Global Health at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. 

What is one thing on your Bucket List?
I want to travel to England and attend a tennis match at Wimbledon. 

What is your favorite thing to do around town?
Currently living in Baltimore, I enjoy walking or running along the waterfront.

Are you a morning person or a night person?
Morning person. 

What was your childhood dream job?
As a kid, I wanted to be the first woman president.

Sofia Coppola – [editors note: known for directing Lost in Translation, 2003]
