We interviewed the Principal Investigators (PIs) responsible for leading each of the CIVICs Centers as part of a two-part interview series. In the first part of each interview, we focused on learning a little bit about the Center PIs, and in the second part, we asked each PI to introduce us to their Center.
In this article, we interviewed the PI for the University of Maryland School of Medicine, CIVICs Clinical Core, Kathleen Neuzil, MD, MPH, FIDSA. Dr. Neuzil is the Myron M. Levine Professor in Vaccinology, Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics, and the Director of the Center for Vaccine Development and Global Health at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
